About

Meet Candace di Talamo, a South African artist and illustrator whose creative path started in London’s film special effects scene. Years later, with a baby on her hip, she landed in Cape Town, full of offbeat ideas and ready for something new.

That’s how Kink Ink came to life — a space for Candace’s bold, hand-painted ink drawings to find their way onto T-shirts, posters, and prints. The word Kink stuck: a twist, a quirk, a nod to doing things differently. Working with ink and brush became her favourite kind of controlled chaos — part precision, part happy accident.

As people fell in love with her wearable art, Kink Ink grew — from printed tees to art jackets and up-cycled pieces given new life under the name KINKED. “KINKING” became her way of describing the twist she puts on every pre-loved jacket she transforms. If you’ve got one, you’ve officially been “KINKED”.

Candace’s work reflects her playful spirit — unexpected, a little rebellious, and always original. These days, you’ll find her in Hout Bay with her two kids, two dogs, three cats, and a lumberjack who keeps life interesting.
